Sneak peek at my 12th century agincourt heart embroidery progress for Bella

    2014/10/10

*omg* I can’t believe that I nearly missed it! But now I am busy working at my 12th century agincourt heart embroidery for my sister Bella. 🙂 I anyway needed a short embroidery break after yesterday, spending most of my day behind the computer working at my next posting… A one day deadline is not much but I am sure I can make a beautiful 12th century agincourt heart embroidery for my sister. 😀

…another sneak peek at my Klosterstich embroidery .2

    2014/10/08

And another sneak peek at my most recent embroidery for you. 😀 During the last evenings I also found some time to work at my Klosterstich embroidery. I managed to fill all of the outer petal sections of my 14th century inspired rose pattern with Klosterstich embroidery. Now I just need to fill the background with even more embroidery. Anyway, I think it already looks very lovely and I just decided what I will use it for… 🙂

FAQ – 14th century embroidery & medieval inspiration

    2014/10/06

During the past years I was often asked for the medieval inspiration for the Klosterstich embroidery which you can see at the picture above. And I have not only embroidered this lovely theme – I also already used it for a hand painted mug and a hand painted box… And, well, I might even use it again in the future because I love it so much… 🙂

…another sneak peek at my Klosterstich embroidery .1

    2014/10/01

Today I have another sneak peek at my most recent Klosterstich embroidery for you. 😀 After all the Meridian Grand Tournament event photos, the video of Hrothgar’s knighting ceremony and before I post pictures of the Knighting scroll and my two pages for Hrothgar’s vigil book you really deserve some new pictures of my most recent embroidery progress… 😀

Sneak peek at some new Klosterstich embroidery :)

    2014/09/23

After all the recent calligraphy projects, I have again a sneak peek at a new Klosterstich embroidery project for you. 🙂 I started working at this new project some days ago. It is still not finished yet but I thought you might enjoy to see some embroidery again. 🙂 I started this new Klosterstich embroidery project in order to put together a detailed Klosterstich hands-on photo tutorial. Therefore I took many close up photos of how I start and do the Klosterstich embroidery while I was working at this new Klosterstich embroidery project.

Another needle book with Klosterstich embroidery .3

    2014/08/31

Yes, I know, I already wanted to start working at my Klosterstich hands-on photo tutorial but I have to admit that I just finished another small needle book with Klosterstich embroidery instead. 😀 While I was getting the materials for my hands-on photo tutorial together, I realized that I still have two small patches with 14th century inspired Klosterstich embroidery which I haven’t turned into needle books yet…

…working at another small embroidered box – sneak peek at the top embroidery…

    2014/08/22

Today I was working at the text for the next FAQ posting about embroidery materials. Unfortunately it takes much longer to put this new posting together than I first expected and it is still far from being complete… *sigh* …and in already less then 2 hours my sweetheart and some good friends are kidnapping me to the SCA event “Tourney of the Foxes”. Ok, the new posting isn’t finished yet and I should start preparing myself for a weekend event. But, well, I didn’t want to leave to “Foxes” without at least another posting for you with which you can start into your well-earned weekend. 🙂

FAQ – research & medieval embroidery inspiration – some personal thoughts based on 14years of experience

    2014/08/21

Recently one of my blog members asked me a very simple but also very important question: Where shall she start her research? Well, though this question seems to be a very simple one, the answer is by far not simple. And I really think that this is actually one of the most simple but also most interesting questions I was ever asked about my work.

Klosterstich technique handout – revisited :D

    2014/08/17

As some of you might already know, the German Klosterstich technique is one of my most favorite medieval embroidery techniques. And today I proudly present my revised Klosterstich technique handout to you. 😀 I am very happy to say that this is just the beginning of a nice series of posting about the Klosterstich technique. Although I already posted about my very first 14th century “Fleur-de-Lis” embroidery pattern for Klosterstich some time ago, I assure you that the journey just begins. This technique handout shows you the basics of the Klosterstich technique and is just another step on our way into the beautiful and amazing world of medieval embroidery. I really hope that you will enjoy this technique…

positive review  Racaire makes wonderful things, she even takes on the Herculean task of dressing ME up pretty and makes it look easy. Anyone who has seen me at an event the past three or four years has seen her work. Not only is it beautifully made, it's durable enough to wear for heavy combat! Win-win!

I received my most recent order today and I just had to come on here to say that getting an order from this shop is second to none - it’s like Christmas every time. Racaire puts a ton of extra care into every order - each item is wrapped like a present, carefully folded, tied with ribbon, and includes care instructions. Getting to unwrap each item is such a joy. Beyond that, the work is spectacular, looks good, and wears well. You can wash and rewash and the prints look as good or better than they did on day one. I would give Racaire 10/10 stars every time.
