My very first fitted medieval stockings sewing pattern – my first women’s hose – from the basic pattern to the hand sewn tight fitted stocking

    2014/11/14

It is slowly getting cold and nasty outside, therefore let’s talk about my tight fitted woolen medieval stockings again, which keep me warm and cosy during cold winter days. 🙂 If you want to make your own tight fitted medieval stockings, you can find a very detail tutorial of how I constructed the basic pattern for my medieval stockings here: My very first fitted medieval stockings sewing pattern – my first women’s hose – revisited, updated & expanded posting My very first fitted medieval stockings sewing pattern – my first women’s hose – revisited, updated & expanded posting – short addendum If you followed my detailed instructions in the postings above, you should have…

My very first fitted medieval stockings sewing pattern – my first women’s hose – revisited, updated & expanded posting – short addendum

    2014/10/24

I was very surprised about the great response concerning my rather long and detailed posting of how I created “my very first fitted medieval stockings sewing pattern“. But on the other side I was also very glad that you enjoyed my medieval stockings tutorial because it me took many hours to put it together. 🙂 Yes, I worked several days at the medieval stockings tutorial. And every time I thought that I was finished and started proofreading it, I remembered even more details and extra information I wanted to add and share with you. *lol*

My very first fitted medieval stockings sewing pattern – my first women’s hose – revisited, updated & expanded posting

    2014/10/21

Welcome to my revisited, updated and expanded posting about how I made my very own basic sewing pattern for my beloved medieval stockings. It took me several days to put this posting / tutorial together but when I took a second look at this posting I set higher goals for myself for the final posting. 😀 My first major goal was to make sure to cover every single step of the fitting process and to add as many useful descriptions and additional information as possible. My second major goal was to make sure that everyone who is following my detailed instructions in this posting is able to make his/her own basic pattern…

Craft with Racaire – Project 2 – fast and easy pouch tutorial – Step 3.6 – Last seam finishing for the pouch :)

    2014/07/01

It took several steps but finally we are getting close to finishing the hand sewing part of the fast and easy pouch. There are just some last hand sewing stitches left and then we can start with the next part and have some fun with the “embellishments”. 😀 Just some last hand sewing stitches… *lol* I tell you, I can already see the light at the horizon, it is already shining at the red, green and blue tassels of the pouch… 😉 Todays motto is: “Last seam finishing for the pouch”

Craft with Racaire – Project 2 – fast and easy pouch tutorial – Step 3.5 – Chain Stitch & how to start a new thread

    2014/06/29

We are already very close to finish the hand sewing of the fast and easy pouch. It took several steps and detailed photo tutorials but I have great news for you: there are just two small steps concerning the hand sewing part left. 😀 The last posting was about the practical application of chain stitch as a decorative hand sewing for the top of this pouch project. But well, no sewing or embroidery thread is endless therefore: Todays motto is: “Chain Stitch & how to start a new thread” Todays detailed photo tutorial is especially devoted to the readers of my blog who are new to hand sewing or hand embroidery (and the chain stitch). The following tutorial will show you how…

Yesterday I showed you pictures of my finished 12th century embroidery “Saint Michael and the Dragon” and today I have again new pictures for you. Todays photo tutorial brings us one step closer to finishing another project – the fast and easy pouch. 😀 As you might remember, my last posting for the fast and easy pouch tutorial was about the technique details and the possibilities of the very basic hand embroidery technique “Chain Stitch“. The posting about the “Chain Stitch” was a detailed preparation for todays next step – the actual application of this stitch to the fast and easy pouch. Yes, today I am going to show you how I used this…

Maybe you remember my recent postings about some very basic but also very important techniques for embroidery & hand sewing. Basic techniques which we needed till now to successfully work at our current “Craft with Racaire” project – the fast and easy pouch tutorial. You can find my detailed postings about the embroidery techniques here: Running Stitch & Stem Stitch. In this postings you can also find detailed information concerning the hand sewing techniques: Running Stitch and Back Stitch and their practical application. This techniques were already a good start but I decided to take you one step further. Today I want to show you how you can easily embellish your pouch during your sewing process. …bees wax for sewing – my self-made bees wax beauties for sewing… :D

    2014/05/01

…and finally another U.F.O.* finished! *happydance* (*= UnFinished Object) Two years ago I got some raw bees wax from a friend of mine in the states. He was so nice to share some of his raw bees wax with me because I was starting to run out of bees wax for sewing. Already one year ago I managed to clear the bees wax. Due to all my other projects I didn’t get to work any further with it till now. Currently my “old” and rather small piece of bees wax for sewing “died” – it became unusable. That was like a “wake up call”. Especially when I was holding the cleared wax in my hands while I was packing…
