My very first fitted medieval stockings – my first women’s hose – more pictures :D

    2014/11/25

Tight fitted medieval stockings are really a great thing. They are not only awesome to wear but they also look great. And well, I am still not done with posting about them… 😉 Some of you might be aware of the fact that our female ancestors not only fought for the right to vote but also fought very hard and over several centuries for the right to wear trousers or short skirts as well as other things which are clothing related. Therefore we are now able to chose freely what we want to wear at a daily basis. Yes, we are living nowadays in a time when nearly every woman has the right to “expose”…

This patch was hand embroidered by lady Siobhan Love and forwarded to me from the sunny SCA Shire of Phoenix Glade situated in the mighty SCA Kingdom of Meridies. 🙂

    2014/11/14

It is slowly getting cold and nasty outside, therefore let’s talk about my tight fitted woolen medieval stockings again, which keep me warm and cosy during cold winter days. 🙂 If you want to make your own tight fitted medieval stockings, you can find a very detail tutorial of how I constructed the basic pattern for my medieval stockings here: My very first fitted medieval stockings sewing pattern – my first women’s hose – revisited, updated & expanded posting My very first fitted medieval stockings sewing pattern – my first women’s hose – revisited, updated & expanded posting – short addendum If you followed my detailed instructions in the postings above, you should have…

And again I have a new sneak peek picture of the most recent progress of my medieval rose worked in the Klosterstich embroidery technique for you. 🙂 I just managed to fill the rest of the blue background section with Klosterstich embroidery. For the next step I need to decide which color I want to use for the surrounding “frame” section and then fill this last remaining big section with it.

My very first fitted medieval stockings sewing pattern – my first women’s hose – revisited, updated & expanded posting – short addendum

    2014/10/24

I was very surprised about the great response concerning my rather long and detailed posting of how I created “my very first fitted medieval stockings sewing pattern“. But on the other side I was also very glad that you enjoyed my medieval stockings tutorial because it me took many hours to put it together. 🙂 Yes, I worked several days at the medieval stockings tutorial. And every time I thought that I was finished and started proofreading it, I remembered even more details and extra information I wanted to add and share with you. *lol*

And during the last days I have not only created some wire jewelry, I was also working at my new Klosterstich embroidery, which I recently started. After all the pictures of wire, beads and several “trees of life“, I thought you might enjoy to see some embroidery pictures again. Therefore I have a new sneak peek picture of the most recent progress of my medieval rose worked in the Klosterstich embroidery technique for you. 🙂 And because I know that some of you find it helpful to see a close up photo of the surface of my embroidery as well as a photo of its backside, I also took several detail photos for you…

My very first fitted medieval stockings sewing pattern – my first women’s hose – revisited, updated & expanded posting

    2014/10/21

Welcome to my revisited, updated and expanded posting about how I made my very own basic sewing pattern for my beloved medieval stockings. It took me several days to put this posting / tutorial together but when I took a second look at this posting I set higher goals for myself for the final posting. 😀 My first major goal was to make sure to cover every single step of the fitting process and to add as many useful descriptions and additional information as possible. My second major goal was to make sure that everyone who is following my detailed instructions in this posting is able to make his/her own basic pattern…

    2014/10/17

As you can see on the picture underneath, I made even more needle made lace rings. 😀 Once I found out that I also can work at them in the car while my sweetheart is driving without feeling sick, I somehow can’t stop and create more and more of this cute small needle made lace flowers. They are so easy and also so fun to make – I really enjoy working at them and see them growing. 😀

My 12th century embroidery for my sister Bella – an agincourt heart for her elevation garment

    2014/10/12

Two days ago I already posted a sneak peek at the 12th century embroidery progress for Bella’s elevation garment. And today I have a picture of the finished 12th century agincourt heart embroidery for you. 😀 I am very happy that my sister Bella will be introduced to the SCA Order of the Laurel soon. Though I can’t attend the event where this will take place, sending her an 12th century embroidery – an agincourt heart – makes me feel like at least a part of me will be with her at this very special day…

  • positive review  I ordered an octopus printed bag on October 27th. By the next day, the bag was finished, packaged up, and shipped to me. It arrived today, October 31st. Included in the package was a hand-written note detailing how to clean the bag as-needed, and a few extra small pieces of stamped fabric. The seller was very responsive to questions, and gave me some great tips as I'm going to start getting into doing fabric painting myself. I would definitely recommend purchasing from Racaire's Workshop.

had the lovely experience of wandering into this pop-up shop at an EMP event. not only is the seller one of the absolute sweetest people (and extremely historically knowledgeable!) but her items are also all extremely high quality and more than worth the cost. i bought two coifs and was very pleased with how comfortable they were while also remaining steadfast on my head without needing any sort of pins.
