My new tablet weaving loom & my 2nd try of weaving with tablets :)

2013_racaire_2

*Wow* Yesterday I was out with my sister Martina and she had an awesome gift for me – a tablet weaving loom!
Many thanks to my sister for this lovely loom – I will do my best to cherish it! *happydance* 😀

I really liked and adored her tablet weaving loom for quite some time in secret and when I told her that yesterday, she replied to me that I can have it… *omg* *happydance* …now her pretty baby is mine! Mine! Mine! Mine! *lol* 😉

…and a picture of my new “baby” – my pretty new tablet weaving loom – isn’t it pretty? 😀

As you can see at the picture above, I did not only get the loom and the accessories, it also came with an additional benefit – with the half finished tablet woven band she was working at. 😀

…and what shall I say, when I came home last night, my personal ambition suddenly kicked my butt. My first thought was, that it would be a shame to waste the rest of the thread on the loom and my second thought was – can I do it? *lol*

Therefore I carefully untangled the cards and threads and I started working at her band. It took some time and also some mistakes but finally I managed to figure out how to rotate the cards. Well, what shall I say, besides a short break for some sleep, I was working at this band until it was finished:

Yes, I know, the spacing is not very regular and the weaving is far away from being perfect – but I am very proud of it because this is the second tablet weaving I have ever done till now. 😀

Btw. at the right side you can see my beginning and my struggle with the pattern until I finally found out how to rotate the cards… However, I am sure this band will look lovely at a tunic for my sweetheart – maybe made from some of the nice linen fabric she also gave me… *sigh* Thank you Martina! 😀

…and now I really need to find out how I can pack the loom for my move to the states. *lol*

Best regards Racaire
