…another sneak peek at my Klosterstich embroidery .1

2014-10 - Racaire - Klosterstich - cloister stitch - medieval rose - hand embroidery - medieval embroidery - sneak-peekToday I have another sneak peek at my most recent Klosterstich embroidery for you. 😀

After all the Meridian Grand Tournament event photos, the video of Hrothgar’s knighting ceremony and before I post pictures of the Knighting scroll and my two pages for Hrothgar’s vigil book you really deserve some new pictures of my most recent embroidery progress… 😀

This was really a very busy weekend but despite all obstacles I still managed to make some nice progress concerning my Klosterstich embroidery. I tried to embroider in the car on our way to the event but already after a short time I gave up this plan. It was far too shaky for me to work at this rather fine Klosterstich embroidery. Nevertheless, whenever I found some peace or took a break from taking photos, I tried to work at my current Klosterstich embroidery project.

And here a sneak peek for you at my most recent Klosterstich embroidery – enjoy! 😀

…and here a closer look at the Klosterstich surface. 😀

…and I thought you might enjoy a look at the backside of my Klosterstich embroidery too:

As you can see at the picture above, I try to keep the stitches with which I couch the top thread as small as possible and my backside as clean as possible. Furthermore I also try to keep the stitch length of the couching stitches very similar. This is not always possible, especially when the pattern has such small sections like the rose pattern above. 🙂

I am very pleased with the new progress and can’t wait to see how the rose finally looks like when all outer petal sections are filled with the dark red color. If you would like to try this technique and/or pattern yourself you can download the rose pattern and the Klosterstich embroidery handout here:

…and now a short break, breakfast and some housework before I start working at the posting concerning the Knighting scroll… I promise! Really! 😀

Best regards Racaire
