A new laptop – migrating, re-sorting and cleaning up my files and photos…

Racaire Meridian Grand TournamentAfter my beloved MacBook died last week and I just got my new laptop, I promised myself to go through, re-sort and clean up all of my files when I migrate them to my new computer…

Well, let me put it this way – I am kinda regretting this idea but on the other side I have to admit to myself that this work is really necessary to be able to actually find something in my files – or at least to find it easier and faster…

Might not be the most interesting or pleasant thing to do but I think that this extra effort will definitely pay off in the future – this way I also get a good overview about all the files and museum photos I have on my computer – actually this would be not the first time that I might re-discovered things and photos I didn’t remember I had wich finally resolved in new project ideas… *lol*

And yes, I resisted the urge to set the American keyboard to a German/European setting – though it might take some time until I get used to the different position of some of the letters and signs but I am slowly getting there…

Btw. having no computer during the last days was a quite interesting experience. Though I grew up without a computer during my childhood and a good part of my teenager years, I was quite amazed how much working on and with the computer became a part of my daily life during the last years and makes me appreciate the computer free times at SCA events even more… I think one doesn’t realize how much we actually depend on small things like this until they break or are not available anymore…
Best regards Racaire
