Woohooo! I just managed to finish another embroidered rose for my friends 14th century hood project.
It took nearly a week and many tiny stitches but I made some really good progress during the last days. Ok, I admit it, I made most progress during my usual embroidery time at night. But well, I am – and always was – a night owl when it comes to working on my projects… *giggle*
However, I guess that no one is more surprised about this great progress in such a rather short time than I am. Why? Well, my husband brought some organic pears home which a very nice coworker gave him. And I spent about two whole nights with turning about 15kg (ca. 33 pounds) of pears into preserves – mostly pear butter. Yeah, my sweetheart loves pear butter and asked me to make some for him…
Well, two whole nights just filled with peeling pears, coring them and cutting them into many small pieces. As well as a lot of cooking, disinfecting jars and finally canning the finished pear butter. What shall I say – it is amazing how few jars of pear butter you get from so many pears. But my sweetheart told me that it was worth it – he loved my final result… 🙂
But enough about my pear-butter madness and let’s get back to the embroidered roses for my friends hood. Well, I know, four roses are still not enough to embellish my friends hood. Nevertheless I should have enough roses for at least one side of the hood soon. Yeah, every finished rose counts! 🙂
And now let’s take a look at the finished roses – enjoy! 😀
Above you can see the most recent finished rose in the foreground. And as you can see at the picture underneath, the rose looks a lot like the roses I’ve finished so far! Woohoo!
And, as you can see on the picture underneath, I already started working on the very next rose:
I hope you enjoyed my embroidery progress till now. Btw. if you would like to know more about how I made this roses, you are going to find out soon. I am planning to write some posts about how I made them and show you all the step by step pictures I took while I was working at my roses. Therefore – stay tuned and enjoy your lovely weekend my friends! 😀
