While writing yesterdays posting about the Meridian Grand Tournament I got so excited that I completely forgot about the other photos and links I wanted to share with you. But postponed is not abandoned! This minor mistake can be easily corrected by writing just another posting with the Meridian Grand Tournament as its main topic.
…and after this posting we can finally return to my (more or less) regular program of “embroidery, needlework and sewing”.
Ok, there might be also some more calligraphy too if the right mood strikes me and I decide to get my nibs and ink out. Well, who knows what the future brings… 😉
Yes, I am finally back! Not only from the most recent SCA event – the Meridian Grand Tournament / MGT – but also back to normal life. Ok, I admit it, more or less normal due to mundane standards but at least what I would call normal… 😉
The last weeks and especially the last days before the Meridian Grand Tournament were really intense for me. I was absolutely determined to finish my 14th century hood project with the symbols for the honorable Orders of the Chivalry and the Pelican for my dear friends Pelican elevation and therefore spent nearly every waking hour embroidering.
Well, I already posted some photos of my cat Alice – the most recent addition to our family – on facebook. But now I’d like to make it a little bit more official by posting it on my blog:
My husband surprised me with a cute kitten!
*omg* Alice is so adorable, isn’t she… *sigh* I just can’t get enough of snuggling her… 😀
During the last days I experienced a beautiful outlook on springtime in Kentucky, which keeps me longing for more. Some great warm days filled with lovely sunshine made me nearly forget the great amount of snow that just melted away.
Though the temperatures dropped again and the forecast for the next days shows a lot of rain moving towards us, I feel somehow released that the winter is finally over and the spring has already begun.
My sweetheart and I used the last days for some garden work – pruned the lilac (German: Flieder) and a tree in the backyard, put up a small bird feeder and started our vegetable and herb garden inside with the help of three small greenhouses. I really can’t wait to get the two small berry bushes into the ground we bought last week but we haven’t decided about their final destination yet.
I wish all of you a beautiful and merry christmas!
I know, I’ve been rather silent recently but unfortunately a mean head cold was holding my brain captive during the last days. But finally I am feeling much better and find myself in a condition that I can think clearly enough to start posting again. 🙂
Recently many interesting things have happened in my life and I am determined to do my best to post about all of them.
I visited a nice Christmas Tournament in the mighty SCA Kingdom of Midrealm, started working at my very first male 13th century tunic for my sweetheart as well as a secret nailbinding project (aka christmas present) for a friend…. But let’s start with the pictures from the Christmas Tournament in the beautiful Kingdom of Midrealm. 🙂
Yesterday I took some time to set up my sewing and crafting space in my very first sewing and crafting room. It still lacks some decoration but I think it is a really good start. 😀
I think I can say that I was really very “productive” during the most recent SCA event Meridian Grand Tournament this last weekend. The battery packs of my dslr camera were fully charged, I was in a really great mood and enjoyed taking photos a lot. Yes, I think that over 1.300 photos – mostly taken at one day – can be called veryyyyy productive… 😉
The fact that my sweetheart was fighting for me in the tournament might have contributed to my great mood. However, it was a great fun for me to take pictures of my lord who was fighting for me and also to “capture” some of the very special moments around me throughout the event. 😀
I promised my sister to post photos of my new sewing and crafting room already two days ago. And after cleaning the room, unpacking and moving in more of my books, I am finally able to fulfill my promise. Yeah, today I have some new pictures of my new sewing and crafting room for you. 😀
I am so excited! I might repeat myself but with every box I unpack and with every thing I move into my new home and especially into my new sewing and crafting room, it feels more and more like I am finally “arriving” in my new home. Even with all the smaller and bigger things which we still have to fix, it already feels like “Home, sweet Home” to me. And it gets even better with every single book I unpack and place on my new book shelves in my new sewing and crafting room.
*woohoooo* I am so excited!
I just managed to finish the major part of the planned “renovation work” at my new and also very first sewing and crafting room. 😀
I am really very excited and happy about my renovation progress. The walls are painted white now and I just finished putting in the last part of the new flooring. I even managed to paint the baseboard and the visible parts of the door frame. 🙂
